London Design Biennale

Special Projects Assistant to Sir John Sorrell CBE, 2017-2020

Launched in 2016, London Design Biennale acts as a platform for exploring the role and potential of design in contemporary culture. For each edition, international participants, including designers, curators and design institutions, gather at London's Somerset House to present a dynamic three-week exhibition focused on a central theme. As Special Projects Assistant to the Biennale’s Co-founder and President, Sir John Sorrell CBE, I engaged in various activities for the 2018 event. These included liaising with and co-ordinating the visit of the Biennale’s International Advisory Committee and Jury; drafting key correspondence and briefings; editing presentation documents and exhibition content; overseeing the design process for the Biennale medals awarded as part of the event; organising a London Design Biennale reception held at 10 Downing Street hosted by the then prime minister, Theresa May, and the attendance of the then Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Jeremy Wright, to launch the exhibition.
